Come on, come on, follow us. We're off to discover Spain. Y Viva Espana. A destination where, trust us, you will have a wonderful, warm and memorable stay. Everyone will tell you about Madrid, Seville, Granada or Barcelona, but we wanted to show you and offer you regions where Spain has kept its art of living, its art of the table and its art of conviviality. Spain, as you know, is a Western European country located on the Iberian Peninsula, which includes 17 regions. It is made up of a constitutional monarchy to which the Spanish remain very attached and a parliamentary democratic system. It is dynamic and young in terms of its population, but still very much rooted in traditional values that are perpetuated from generation to generation. From Cadaqués, in a very independent Catalonia, in the north of the country to Andalusia, the southernmost region, with the beautiful Marbella, via Altea and Moreira on the Costa Blanca, Spain has managed to preserve beautiful assets and architectural and medieval gems that will amaze you. When the sun will be less scorching at the end of the day and life will resume in these sleepy rushes, lined with small shops and tapas bars, you will be able to once again criss-cross these lively little seaside towns or wander through the hilly and mountainous hinterland and stop in its small white perched villages where sometimes time seems to have stopped to the delight of our guests.
Catalonia
This beautiful region is no longer to be presented, so much so that it seems to be radiated throughout the world. Located in the North of Spain, Catalonia has its own codes. Already because of its language, Catalonia wants to be totally independent from the rest of Spain. From the Pyrenees in the North which delimits it from France, to Barcelona, the capital city of the region, Catalonia has all the attractions to enjoy a beautiful Mediterranean holiday. You will be able to enjoy beautiful walks in a rich countryside with its natural parks, mountains and valleys. Visit its castles, farmhouses or abbeys. You can walk along the beautiful green and hilly coast that the Costa Brava offers in the north, to a more family oriented and structured coast that the Costa Daurada offers in the south. Stroll through its villages with their small marinas, and Cadaqués will charm you with its noble aspect, where the regulars come to their houses every year and where everyone knows each other and gets to know each other in a friendly way. If you settle there for your holidays in this charming village, don't forget to visit the house museum of Salvador Dali de Portlligat not far away. This famous painter had put his luggage there, finding there, it seems, the inspiration that would make him the great painter we know. If you like this man out of the ordinary, visit the theatre museum in Fugueras, designed by the Master. Around Figueres, you will see beautiful buildings with their wine fields, as it is a region also known for its very good wine, that of the Empordà. Some of these buildings have been restored to become farmhouses and charming residences open for seasonal rentals. It will be the ideal place to enjoy, with friends or for large family gatherings, beautiful spaces where the sweetness of life and festivities that Catalonia offers are combined. On the other hand, if you prefer to contemplate the sea from your holiday resort, we advise you to put your luggage on the heights of Begur or Tamariu, two beautiful villages set on hills, where the pine forest gives an incomparable tranquillity in this beautiful residential landscape. You will be able to contemplate the green of the pine trees and the azure blue of this beautiful Mediterranean Sea, and go down in the afternoon to enjoy the beach and its beautiful waters. Barcelona is only a short distance from this beautiful coastline, so we invite you to experience Barcelona life for just one day, a city that is vibrant, dynamic, young, sunny and also open to the sea. You are sure to be seduced by this magnificent city that welcomes many tourists and will give you a taste of what it is like to live in Spain. And you will only want to leave and come back very quickly.
The Costa Blanca
We continue our extraordinary Spanish adventure towards the South, towards Altea, a city equally prized by painters. The light of Altea having seduced more than one. The long coastline that the Costa Blanca offers can be very developed there, we wanted to highlight this small oasis between Alicante and Valencia, as a quieter place that will allow you to get out of this tourist effervescence. This region is very well served, Alicante and Valencia having their own airport. Altea, this small fishing village, located only 30 km from Alicante, has become a very famous holiday resort where you can find the most beautiful villas on the coast. Overlooking the sea, the old town, with its small white houses, gives a typical note of what you can imagine when you think of Spain. At the top of the old town, the magnificent Parroquia Nuestra Senora del Consuelo church, with its two blue domes, seems to protect the place and its inhabitants. If you walk through these little streets in the evening and walk down towards the coast, you can sit at the many tables of small restaurants and taste good grilled fish or other local dishes. Moraira a little further south is a small seaside town, considered to be the small Cap d'Antibes of the Costa Blanca. Just as charming as its big sister Altéa, Moreira will offer you 8 beautiful beaches, so you will have the choice between small isolated cove or more lively beaches. And wherever you are, in Altéa or Moraira, you can only contemplate the impressive Penyal d'Ifac, in Calpe. The rock, which has been a natural park since 1987 and which you can visit with or without a guide, is home to a flora and fauna made up of rare species. There are many hiking trails to get there. And once you get to the top, you can enjoy the incredible panoramic view that stretches as far as the eye can see.
Andalusia
If we finally tell you about Seville, Granada, Cordoba, Malaga or Marbella you will understand that your trip to Spain will end in the far south of Spain. Almost on the borders of Africa, with Morocco and Algeria facing it, Andalusia offers a rich architectural and cultural heritage. You will find a lot of Arab-Andalusian architecture, dating back to the Arab conquests. As a result, many cities proudly display their castles or fortresses because the places there are majestic and incomparable. To cite some beautiful examples, visit the Almohade fortress in Seville, the Alcazar de Jerez in Cadiz or the impressive and very well-known Alhambra in Granada and you will be definitively conquered. The Alhambra is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is the most visited site in Spain. Perched on top of a hill, leaning against the mountains of the Sierra Nevada, the sunsets in this place will mark you forever. Don't miss to visit also the beautiful Cathedral - Mosque of Cordoba with its many white and red columns and arches. Another must-see in the Malaga region are the white villages or more commonly known as Pueblos Blancos : Ronda, a perched city with its vertiginous stone bridge that connects the two parts of the village, Gauçin, Frigiliana with its summer festival or Casares and its 18th century castle that dominates the village and the region. From this promontory you can see the Mediterranean Sea. All these small hilltop villages and hundreds of small white houses on the hillside are delightful to admire. What's more, you will be in the heart of an authentic Andalusia. Finally, head down to the coast to enjoy the festivities again. And if you feel like enjoying a dream villa and the pleasures of luxury, treat yourself to a week in Marbella, specifically in Puerto Banus. This is where the most beautiful villas are located, not far from the Golf Course and the Marbella Marina. So, would you be tempted ?
